Photography Exhibit by Brian Gorin of Scenes in Jerusalem 

Brian Gorin has over 45 years’ experience in the study of light, both the science and art of light generation and capture with imaging methods. He has contributed to the development of the first digital cameras since 1980, and designed and fielded several unique light sensing systems for holographic, infrared, and spectral imaging applications. 

Recently, he has returned to his early artistic passions of photography to create “Lite Impressions.” 

He has now published 12 books (and counting) of his photographs.

Chen Almog is 22 years old. She was born and raised in Israel. She was a soldier and commander in the artillery corps in the IDF for three years. She is a survivor of the Nova Music Festival Massacre:

"On October 7th, my life changed and I survived the attack at the Nova Music Festival. I went back to fight right after. Now, I am sharing my story to the world and I have the opportunity to honor the angels that are no longer with us.”

Talk by Nova Festival Survivor & Hero - Avi Medina

Avi Medina was lead videographer at the Nova Music Festival when rockets rained down and terrorists stormed the festival. He was miraculously able to escape, saving others with him. He then returned to the grounds of the festival to retrieve his camera equipment and to help fight off remaining terrorists.

Transforming the World with Rabbi Leo Dee

On April 7, 2023, Leo’s life changed forever when his wife Lucy and two of their daughters, Maia (20) and Rina (15) were brutally murdered by a terrorist during Pesach. He became an inspirational public speaker and was appointed as a Special Envoy for Social Initiatives by Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His book “Transforming the World” was republished in English and Hebrew, dedicated to the memory of his wife and daughters. Today, Rabbi Leo Dee lives in Efrat with his three remaining children, Keren, Tali and Yehuda.

Daniel & Neria Sharabi: Heroism & Courage Surviving the Nova Music Festival & Saving Lives

On October 7th, brothers Daniel and Neria Sharabi found themselves in the midst of the deadly Nova Massacre. Amidst the chaos and death they found cover behind an abandoned IDF tank.

As former combat and medic IDF soldiers, the brothers quickly took charge and spent hours fighting off terrorists with weapons and ammunition found inside the abandoned IDF tank. They saved dozens of lives by providing fire cover for escapees who sought shelter with them behind the tank.

Join us to hear their testimony and bear witness as they share their unbelievable story of heroism and courage, the stories of those no longer with us, and honor their friend Yosef Ohana who was taken hostage in Gaza.

Update from the Front Lines with Capt. Zoe Marks

Zoe Marks is Director of Overseas Operations for Yatar, Israel's sole compact All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) unit. From the Gaza Strip to the borders of Lebanon - Yatar is a specialist first-responder, anti- terror unit. Underpinned by swift and effective responses with agile ATVs allowing for access to off-road locations, Yatar shields Israel from internal and external threats. Yatar has played an integral role with the war in Gaza including the arrest of terrorists and evacuations of hundreds of wounded soldiers from Gaza. Zoe will share her experience on Oct 7th and military service in her unit inside and outside of Gaza.

Meet Auschwitz Survivor Irene Zisblatt & Hear Her Incredible Story 

Center For Jewish Life - Sag Harbor invites you to meet holocaust survivor Irene Zisblatt and hear her  incredible story of surviving Auschwitz and the holocaust. Irene Zisblatt born in 1929, is a Hungarian Holocaust Survivor, the only one out of her whole family. She was an inmate in Auschwitz-Birkenau, and was a victim of Joseph Mengele’s barbaric experiments. She is one of the few who was able to escape from the infamous death camp. She is author of, The Fifth Diamond a book about her story and was featured in Steven Spielberg’s, Oscar-winning documentary, The Last Days. 

Hear her story on Sunday, July 7th 2024, 12:00pm (doors open 11:30am) at Center For Jewish Life - Sag Harbor.

Shavuot Ice Cream Party

Shavuot celebrates the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai more than 3,000 years ago. It is observed by staying up all night to study Torah, hearing the reading of the Ten Commandments, Yizkor recitation, feasting on dairy foods and more. Update from the Front Lines with First Sergeant Matti Feldman

Join us for a first hand account by First Sergeant Matti Feldman of the Mobility Unity of Ougda 98 who was first tasked with clearing out the Kibbutzim of terrorists and retrieving the lifeless bodies of the victims in the aftermath of the Oct 7th massacre. His unit was later tasked with running mobility logistics in the Gaza strip; including two in half months in the Khan Yunis area.

Surviving Oct 7th

Join us for a first-hand chilling account of the massacre & survival on Oct 7th by Eden Gefner.

On October 7th, Eden was visiting her parents at home, on Kibbutz Re-im. When the terrorists took over the kibbutz and broke into their home, Eden and her family hid in the attic. After 26 hours under fire, the family was rescued by the IDF and was evacuated from the Kibbutz. Her family survived but many of her neighbors and 400+ festival goers trying to escape from their surrounding fields did not.
