Summer Benefit 2022

Building for a Brighter Tomorrow Benefit A Great Success for Jewish Community

Bridgehampton, New York - This past Sunday, Center For Jewish Life in Sag Harbor hosted a Building for a Brighter Tomorrow Summer Benefit at the estate of Maria and Ken Fishel. Approximately 200 people attended. As the center’s current space is slated for redevelopment, the event helped raised funds for its capital campaign to secure a permanent home for the community center's synagogue, art gallery, spirituality, cultural and learning center, and children's education center that is all housed under one roof.

Event chairs included: Jason Breitstone, Jared and Mindy Epstein, Keith and Inga Rubenstein, David & Melanie Shorenstein, and Denise Wohl. It also featured world renowned vocalist Yaakov Motzen live in concert and the Selinger Brothers Band of Sag Harbor.

At the event, awards were presented to those members of the community who have displayed great leadership. Jacques Acoca and Ruth Miller both received the Community Builder Award. Max Morris received the Young Leadership Award. Jeroen and Robin Bours received the Lamplighter Award. Martin and Jean Shafiroff were recognized for their Philanthropy.

Ken Fishel served as host and Master of Ceremonies. He encouraged everyone to join the Cornerstone Initiative and support the Building For A Brighter Tomorrow cause to ensure Center For Jewish Life continues assisting others for generation to come.

“The goal of Center For Jewish Life is to serve as a beacon of light, education, spirituality, and Jewish culture that radiates brightly in the Hamptons and beyond. In the short time since our inception, I believe we have succeeded in achieving that, and we look forward to creating a permanent center that will serve as a beacon of light for, please G-d, generations to come. We invite everyone to help make this vision a reality," said Rabbi Lerman.
